The Peace of Making Music

Seven veteran Atlanta musicians travel to Peter Gabriel’s legendary Real World Studios and discover something rarer than success: the peace, focus, and creative validation that comes from finally being treated as the artists they have always been.

The Peace of Making Music follows the band Blackfox during an extraordinary six-day recording session at Real World Studios in the English countryside.

The band members—now in their fifties and sixties—have spent decades balancing everyday life with an unwavering commitment to making music together. When they arrive at Real World, they enter an environment unlike anything they have experienced before: a studio designed entirely for collaboration, concentration, and creative care.

Over the course of the week, songs that have lived in rehearsal spaces and notebooks begin to take shape in one of the world’s most respected recording rooms. Through studio footage and candid interviews, the film reveals the rare atmosphere that allows artists to work with patience, trust, and mutual respect.

Rather than focusing on the familiar mythology of rock-and-roll chaos, The Peace of Making Music offers something quieter and more profound: a portrait of musicians discovering that even after decades of persistence, the simple act of making music together can still transform how they see themselves and their work.
